What you will do:

  • Serve as the LPSD turbocharger application teams primary contact for current product including factory liaison activities
  • Drive product improvements by analyzing warranty claims and identifying data trends and emerging issues
  • Complete teardown/inspection of turbochargers being used in validation
  • Complete advanced failure analysis of failed turbochargers either at a Caterpillar facility or travel to customer/dealer to complete on site
  • Provide guidance in defining turbo reuse and salvage criteria
  • Leverage experience with air/exhaust system-to-system interactions and their effects on turbocharger function and performance
  • Utilize APQP to collaborate with suppliers; optimizing designs to meet performance reliability durability and cost targets
  • Direct the work of off-site engineering groups providing analysis and detailing services
  • Complete design FMEAs and develop validation requirements for new and improved designs
  • Create product validation plans and lead execution of these plans
  • Keep up-to-date on current technologies and develop new technologies

Education:

  • Bachelors degree related to Engineering/Technology desired

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches tools and techniques; ability to anticipate detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.

Top Candidates May Have:

  • Masters degree in Engineering/Technology or similar
  • Knowledge of shop operations and product maintenance procedures
  • Data acquisition experience
  • Deep expertise in Teamcenter and EDS/MCS releasing processes

  • This position is located in Lafayette IN
  • Travel up to 10% is possible with this position

Summary Pay Range:

$95640.00 - $143520.00
