Job Summary

Responsible for oversight and strategic management of transitional housing programs including residential group homes and independent living apartments serving adults with serious mental illness. This leadership role ensures high-quality person-centered care within a recovery-oriented framework. The Director will lead multi-disciplinary teams ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations managing budgets and fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support transitions to greater independence. The Director will maintain streamlined standardized program requirements to ensure consistent program delivery and compliance across all locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple transitional living locations including supervised group homes and independent living apartments.
  • Ensure services are delivered in alignment with agency mission values and best practices in psychiatric rehabilitation.
  • Provide leadership supervision and professional development to program managers and staff.
  • Foster a recovery-oriented environment that promotes dignity autonomy and empowerment for residents.
  • Identify gaps in service delivery and opportunities for program expansion or enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulatory standards.
  • Monitor program performance outcomes and workflows. Identify trends and take action for improvements.
  • Develop maintain and implement Bowen Health policy and procedures related to Transitional Living services.
  • Collaborate with Bowen Health leaders to ensure program response meets expectations and needs and aligns with the organizations clinical priorities and best practices.
  • Develop and manage program budgets staffing plans and resource allocation.
  • Work collaboratively with Practice Administrators and program managers to ensure recommended service delivery and smooth transitions between levels of care are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with Healthcare Quality to oversee incident reporting risk management and emergency preparedness for Transitional Living Programs.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community agencies law enforcement housing/shelter providers healthcare systems and other stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze program data and feedback to make sustainable positive change.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and standards including DMHA CMS Joint Commission IDOH Indiana Code.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree required. Masters degree in social work psychology counseling public administration MBA or a related field preferred.
  • Certificate or Professional License: None required.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of leadership experience in behavioral health housing or community-based programs.
  • Valid drivers license and active liability insurance.
  • Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks.
