About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mathematics Teacher to become a valuable addition to the team at St Johns College Dubbo. The teacher in a Secondary Catholic School is someone who can collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs relevant to the mathematics curriculum while creating a nurturing and order learning environment for their students.

We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

• Creating a learner-centred supportive and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.

• Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.

• Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.

• Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.

• Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.

• Collaborating with school leadership staff and contribute to school life.

• Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who can address the following criteria:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and current NESA accreditation.
• Possess well developed verbal and written communication skills.
• The desire to engage with and contribute to a Catholic learning organisation.
• Experience and proven record in effective classroom learning and teaching.
• Advanced understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.
• A proven ability to differentiate the learning to meet the needs of all students.
• A proven capacity to facilitate the integration of ICT in contemporary learning practices.
• A capacity to work collegially and collaborate within a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills punctuality and adaptability.
• Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school including coaching sporting teams and attending school camps and retreats as required.
• The ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect patience and understanding.
• Characteristics that provide a positive role model to students at the school both in their professional and personal life.
• Capacity to create safe and supportive learning environments for students.
