Job Summary

Wayman Education is seeking a Science ECT to join a well-regarded and supportive secondary school in Peterborough starting January on a full-time basis. Role Details

The successful Science ECT will teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science and will have the opportunity to teach their specialism at Key Stage 5 once confidence is established. The school uses clear consistent schemes of work that will support you during your first years in the classroom whilst still giving you the flexibility to adapt lessons to your teaching style.

You will be encouraged to support practical investigations demonstrations STEM clubs and enrichment activities that build enthusiasm and confidence among students. The department values inquiry-based learning strong questioning and the development of scientific literacy.

This role is particularly well-suited to an ECT who is reflective organised warm in their communication style and committed to improving their practice through feedback and collaborative working.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in a Science-related subject

  • PGCE or QTS (Science) completing training this academic year

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Passion for inclusive engaging Science teaching

  • Commitment to professional development and a positive department culture

Salary

The salary for this Science ECT position will be paid on the MPS1MPS2 scale depending on experience.
