Starrycare is seeking a dedicated Maths GCSE & Functional Skills Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching support curriculum development and ensure learners achieve their full potential across a range of further education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging teaching for GCSE and Functional Skills Maths ensuring individual learning needs are met.
Prepare lesson plans learning materials and mark assignments to meet curriculum and quality standards.
Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of maths programmes.
Support programme management including assessment quality assurance and student guidance.
Participate in course verification course leadership and coordination of course teams.
Assist in timetabling programme delivery and day-to-day operational requirements.
Recruit select and enrol students onto relevant programmes meeting enrolment targets.
Maintain accurate records of student progress assessment and achievement.
Provide coaching mentoring and academic support to learners.
Participate in performance reviews staff development and mandatory training.
Contribute to departmental self-assessment reports action plans and strategic documentation.
Perform additional duties as required to support the needs of the department and organisation.
Requirements
A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE QTS DET CertEd or equivalent).
Experience teaching GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths in further education or a similar setting.
Strong understanding of assessment methods curriculum planning and quality assurance.
Excellent communication classroom management and learner support skills.
Ability to work flexibly and contribute to course leadership and curriculum development.
