Introduction
TheBusiness Services Division is comprised of the Business Charter Unit.TheBusiness Corporate Charter/Charter Legal Review Unit is custodian of documentsrelating to the organization and ownership of many types of business entitiesthat are required to file documents with the State. These documents includecharters for Maryland corporations and qualifications and registrations forforeign corporations. The unit is also the custodian of security interest (UCC)filings.
BusinessCharter Legal processes ground rent redemptions. Under this program homeownerscan redeem the ground rents on their residencies where the ground rent holder cannotbe located. The unit also implemented a ground rent registration system whereground rent lease holders can register their ground rents with the State.

Main Purpose of Job
This is a multi-task position that provides support to the Charter SOP and Trade Name unit staff. This position also assists public area with customer assistance keying of Annual Reports and the processing of rejection letters.
POSITION DUTIES
Assists with work ordering keying & processing ground rent documents.
Works at the public service counter greeting customers checking the status of businesses and assisting with providing customers with acknowledgements certified copies and good standing certificates as needed.
Work orders for non-expedited documents.
Confirms appointments scheduled through the online appointment system.
Tallies checks and credit card receipts to reconcile with MBES daily closeout. Assists with the closing of the public area with credit cards and locking of doors.
Performs various other duties assigned which may include but not limited to supporting other teams when appropriate participates in training provided by management for any job duty deficiencies regularly checks and responds to emails and follows SDAT Customer Service Policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience performing clerical duties.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
2. Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding clerical math word processing spreadsheets database graphics presentation proofreading or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administrative classifications or in Administrative Clerical or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
1. Experience using Microsoft Office and entering data into a database system.
2. Experience using a multi-line phone system.
3. Experience working with the public via telephone and in person.
4. Experience working with typing written correspondence.
