The Operations Support Coordinator D.C. plays a vital role in supporting the operational and administrative functions across customer service production and logistics. This position is responsible for sales order processing backup customer service support document management and coordination of critical activities across both office and production environments. The role supports multiple departments including AP Manufacturing the Eastern facility and Dorman-related operations.
This position requires a detail-oriented organized professional with strong communication skills and the ability to balance office-based responsibilities with hands-on floor support as needed. Proficiency in Excel ERP systems and multitasking in a fast-paced environment is essential.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Order Processing
- Accurately enter and maintain sales orders for joint venture (JV) parts produced at AP.
- Coordinate with production logistics and customer service to ensure smooth and timely processing.
- Troubleshoot and correct order discrepancies in ERP systems.
Customer Service Support (Backup)
- Serve as a backup to the Customer Service team by handling order follow-ups customer communications and issue resolution.
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries and assist with order tracking.
Administrative Support Eastern and AP Facilities
- Provide administrative services such as document preparation file maintenance report generation and clerical coordination.
- Facilitate effective communication across departments and support internal documentation needs.
Dorman-Related Task Support
- Maintain trackers compile reports and ensure documentation accuracy for Dorman-related projects.
- Support audit readiness through effective data organization and compliance practices.
Pallet Sheet Creation
- Generate and manage pallet sheets to align with inventory and shipping records.
- Work closely with the logistics and shipping teams to verify accuracy and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing distribution or customer service setting strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Epicor SAP Dataflow) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skillsboth written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexible and dependable with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This role requires work in both an office setting and on the production/distribution floor.
- Office environment includes standard computer and desk work.
- Plant environment may include exposure to machinery noise temperature fluctuations and safety-sensitive areas.
- May occasionally be required to walk to other departments or warehouse areas to verify or gather information.
- Must be able to sit stand walk bend and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to use a computer telephone and other office equipment for extended periods.
- May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) while in production areas.
- Ability to move between office and production environments safely and efficiently.
