Job Summary

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector lead position is responsible for leading a team of quality inspectors managing priorities aligning the inspection work flow preparing and conducting internal production audits creating FAIRs creates reports serves as an SME or DSQR (Customer Certified Inspector) and eliminate process waste such as over processing reducing cycle-time and defects. A Lead will also be expected to drive Safety 6S and Quality tasks training and projects as well being able to drive the team to meet their daily throughput targets. This position also requires that one develops an advanced understand of AS9100 preparation. The Lead provides technical oversight of a dimensional inspection team comprised of CMM programmers CMM inspectors and Romer Blue Light inspectors. They must also demonstrates advanced trouble shooting skills including communicating with internal and external sources to solve issues. Must be US Citizen to be in position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction
  • Perform advanced mechanical inspections
  • Drives Safety Quality 6S and Delivery metrics
  • Leads and trains lower level inspectors
  • Prepares production for upcoming audits
  • Investigates quality issues using the 5 whys method
  • Manages corrective actions
  • Drives a daily team meeting

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English
  • General understanding of metrology standards and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of inspection processes
  • Advanced shop math & blue print reading
  • General understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret customer/internal blueprints and point cloud files. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and other Company employees. Analysis and interpretation of customer and regulatory requirements

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.

Required Experience:

  • Typically 5 Years

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
