The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is looking for a passionate talented and inventive Sr. ML Engineer with a strong machine learning background to build customization capabilities such as fine tuning and distillation.
As a Sr. ML engineer with the AGI team you will be responsible for leading the development of novel LLM training inference techniques and optimizations to advance the state of LLMs. You will collaborate closely with Applied Scientists and leverage Amazons heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate development of multimodal Large Language Models and Generative Artificial Intelligence solutions.

- Will work with other team engineers to investigate design approaches prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Work closely with Applied scientists to process data scale machine learning models while optimizing
- Will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software.

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
