Job Summary

Responsibilities

Assigned to work with one physician/allied health provider (provider) per shift.

Accompanies the provider upon patient interview and examination

Documents the dictated patient history including history of present illness review of systems past medical and surgical histories family and social histories medications and allergies and discharge summary.

Documents physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the provider.

Documents the results of laboratory and radiographic studies as dictated by the provider.

Documents the correct time of patient care related activities including provider to provider communication family communication and re-examinations of the patient.

Completes patient rounds with the provider to review patient status delays and any other care-related issues.

Timely and accurately completes all medical record documentation with signature date and time stamp.

Assists Physician and providers as needed.

Insures maintenance of the therapeutic environment through proper use of the Teaching-Family Model of care.

Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment and communicates pertinent data to other service providers as needed.

Assists in preparation and helps maintain compliance with Licensing Medicaid and JCAHO standards.

Takes advantage of professional growth opportunities and in-service training.

Attends regular staff meetings as required.

Provides and maintains requested information and program records.

Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of appropriate CPI techniques.

Responsibility is assumed for continuing educational and professional development and contributions are made to the professional growth of others. Continuing education etc. will be documented and copies provided to the personnel department to be kept in employees record.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the provider or program administrator.

Qualification

Arkansas Licensed Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.

Current Arkansas Licensure.

Meet requirements for privileging status as specified by Methodist Behavioral Hospital Standards.

Current Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse license.

Experience with adolescents and children in a psychiatric setting preferred.

Lift and hold at least 50 pounds for one minute.

Requires the strength and stamina to perform clinical duties.

Must be physically capable to receive verbal and written directions. Must be physically capable of sitting and standing for several hours at a time.

Must have good auditory visual and olfactory ability. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects tools or controls.

Must be able to maintain effective audio visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations communicating with others reading and writing and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.

Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means to review information and enter/retrieve data to see and read characters on a computer screen chart or other treatment items.

Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health.

Flu vaccination is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).

Level One - Full Access: Ongoing regular access to PHI of all forms while the employee is on duty and performing within the scope of his or her job as defined by the employees job description and Policy and Procedure. Such access must be for cause consistent with job responsibilities and related to patients claims audits reviews and other legitimate business purposes. (e.g. Physicians nurses and other clinicians)
