Job Summary

THE POSITION

The Washington County Juvenile Services Department is seeking a skilledConciliation Supervisorto join our Leadership Team. This key position plays an important role in supporting daily operational work implementation supervision and strategic planning of the Conciliation Team.

Conciliation Services seeks to mitigate the negative impact of family transition and parental conflict on Washington County decisions regarding services are made in consultation with the Conciliation Services Advisory Board. The Board is composed of the Domestic Relations Bench several local Family Law attorneys staff from the Family Law Facilitators office the Family Law Education provider and Washington County staff. Currently Washington County provides court-connected custody and parenting time mediation Mediation Orientation voluntary mediation parent education court ordered and voluntary counseling and a high conflict class to both court ordered and voluntary participants. Services are provided in languages other than English through our fulltime bilingual staff or an interpreter as needed.

The position would be in-person at first with the potential to work remote 1-2 days a week based on department need.

The ideal candidate is highly organized and able to multitask. The position requires the ability to pivot and problem-solve regularly. They will have experience in supervision and leading and supporting teams. A candidate would have established skills in mediation with parents as the position is a working supervisor who provides direct services. They will have knowledge of family dynamics and experience providing clinical supervision as well as counseling services to couples families and children. They would also have a history of successful work with court partners and community advanced written and verbal communications skills and be detail oriented as much of the documentation done by the team is part of court record. Though not required a Masters Degree is preferred. Lastly they would embrace our values of integrity excellence and teamwork.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in counseling social work corrections psychology or a related field; AND three (3) years of experience in social work juvenile or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities; OR
  • Bachelors Degree in counseling social work corrections psychology or a related field; AND five (5) years of experience in social work juvenile or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities; OR
  • Associates Degree in counseling social work corrections psychology or a related field; ANDseven (7) years of experience in social work juvenile or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities; OR
  • Nine (9) years of experience in social work juvenile or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities.
Additional Requirements:

  • Completion of a criminal history check in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules.
  • Conciliation Unit Supervisor must be a certified family court mediator.
  • Clinical social work or counseling license preferred.

Selection Process:

4. Panel Interviews:Generally the top 6 8 candidates will be invited to participate in a panel interview.

5.Conditional Offer:The topcandidate will be required to successfully clear a third-party background check and driving check as pre-employment conditions.
