The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be a proactive hunter responsible for acquiring new business and managing complex sales cycles. This role involves both independent selling coaching field sales teams to close deals effectively and working with internal stakeholders to enhance our good standing with existing customers. The KAM will be responsible for researching target markets developing strategic account plans managing stakeholder relationships and driving the full sales process from prospecting to final onboarding and service handoff.
Essential Functions:
- Research markets competitors and target accounts to build and prioritize a strategic pipeline.
- Map key stakeholders and understand decision-making processes within target accounts.
- Create and execute detailed Account Plans and Opportunity Maps.
- Develop and maintain a robust prospecting cadence through calls emails meetings and field visits.
- Present Nixon Medicals unique value proposition and customized solutions via proposals and presentations.
- Update daily with all sales activity pipeline updates customer interactions and follow-up actions.
- Maintain accurate records of contacts meeting notes and deal progress.
- Influence decision-makers through insight-based selling and needs assessments.
- Navigate complex account structures to build consensus and develop optimal solutions.
- Lead pricing and contract negotiations to deliver win-win outcomes for Nixon Medical and the customer.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Service Operations Admin) to ensure seamless customer onboarding and support.
- Work closely with field sales teams to coach and elevate sales execution in key accounts.
- Attend trade shows networking events and industry associations to cultivate new business opportunities.
- Ensure smooth handoff to Service and other departments post-sale for successful account activation.
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals and KPIs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through workshops publications and networking.
- Conduct regular competitive analysis to inform positioning and strategy.
- Able to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Able to influence others build consensus and get results by working through multiple parties.
- Able to tailor the sales process and provide insight based on the challenges the customer is facing.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to actively listen and ask effective questions.
- Must be able to write clearly and concisely.
- Self-motivated competitive hard-working and assertive with required diplomacy.
- Highly organized and disciplined with outstanding time management skills.
- Team oriented and demonstrate a willingness to help others.
- Proficient in MS-Office tools and proficient in Word Excel PowerPoint and Internet research.

- 5 years of B2B sales experience with a strong track record in developing new business.
- Experience managing complex accounts and sales involving multiple stakeholders.
- Must have a valid drivers license throughout employment.
- Able to develop and follow account plans identify decision-makers and close complex sales.
- Can adapt messaging and approach to match the specific challenges of each prospect.
- Proven ability to build trust-based relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Skilled at building consensus and navigating complex internal dynamics.
- Strong verbal communication active listening and persuasive presentation abilities.
- Excellent writing skills for clear professional proposals and internal documents.
- Self-motivated assertive goal-oriented and highly disciplined.

- A team player who collaborates well supports others and shares knowledge positively.
- Proficient in (required or preferred depending on experience).

- Must be able to drive safely and follow all traffic laws and regulations.
- Physical mobility is required to perform the sales role.

- Must work the hours needed to complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent travel is expected often involving several hours of driving per day within a set sales territory.
