is seeking 3rd Shift Mechanic Assistants to join our Equipment Maintenance team located in Brunswick Maine.
As a Mechanic Assistant youll play a key role in supporting our mechanics with scheduled equipment maintenance and assisting with mold changes on boot molding machines. This position helps ensure smooth machinery operation and contributes to overall shop efficiency.
Schedule:
3rd Shift Sunday night through Thursday morning
10:30 PM 7:00 AM
The Mechanics Assistant supports mechanics in performing scheduled maintenance on equipment and assists with mold changes on boot molding machines. This role ensures the smooth operation of machinery and contributes to overall shop efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a clean and organized shop; return tools to designated locations.
Manage inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
Inspect tools and equipment to confirm proper working condition.
Update maintenance and repair logs accurately.
Perform additional duties as assigned including snow removal preventive maintenance and mold changes on boot molding machines.
Examine equipment and promptly report issues to technicians.
Assist production floor operators with sharpening scissors.
Inspect lubricate clean and adjust equipment according to PM checklists.
Provide support to other technicians as needed.
Adhere to all safety rules and procedures; report unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
Be available for fluctuating schedules during peak season which may exceed 40 hours per week based on business needs.
Comply with safety-sensitive position requirements: employees must not work under the influence of alcohol or drugs that impair performance.
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance.
High-level mechanical aptitude.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and task lists.
Proficient in using power and hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret service and repair manuals.
Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
Capable of bending stretching pushing pulling and moving as needed to service machinery.
Visual ability to inspect machines effectively.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. POHI5
