About the Role
The Lead 2 Thyme Transition House oversees dailyoperations for the Thyme Transition House Program fostering a safe supportiveenvironment for women and children residents. Reporting to the Program ManagerTogether Against Violence youll play a key role in maintaining servicequality supporting staff and ensuring program goals are met in alignment withagency mandates and this role youll drive impactful initiativeswhile collaborating with a dynamic and supportive team.
What Youll Do
Program Operations & Administration
- Oversee day-to-day program operations including staffmanagement financial administration facility maintenance repairs andrenovations.
- Manage ongoing program delivery (9 a.m.4 p.m. Monday toFriday) with potential after-hours support on evenings and weekends.
- Perform basic tidying cleaning and organizationalactivities.
- Assess minor household repairs and conduct minor yardwork and maintenance tasks.
- Establish implement and maintain safety and securityprocedures.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit onboard train schedule supervise and supportstaff in accordance with the collective agreement and SCCSS policies.
- Promote and support self-care practices among employeesto reduce the impact of vicarious trauma.
- Facilitate staff meetings and coordinate professionaldevelopment opportunities including learning environments for students andvolunteers.
- Serve as the designated after-hours Go-To Supervisor oneweekend per month providing support and guidance to staff.
- Provide weekday and weekend coverage as needed duringholidays or staff absences for supervisory roles.
Client & Community Relations
- Build rapport with clients to establish trustconfidence and credibility.
- Maintain client records and files in keeping with programmanuals and SCCSS policy.
- Collaborate with other SCCSS programs and communitypartners to enrich program delivery and fulfill the organizations mission.
- Contribute to program development and systemic changeinitiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary degree in counselling social work or a related social services field or a minimum of three years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Two years of staff supervision or programmanagement experience in a unionized environment (preferred).
- Good working knowledge of relevant local provincial andfederal legislation related to anti-violence work.
- Understanding of family systems and culturally responsivepractices.
- Experience working effectively and non-judgmentally withclients from diverse cultural ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Experience applying a feminist analysis of gender-basedviolence within a trauma-informed practice approach.
- Solid understanding of systemic issues affecting violenceagainst women and children.
- Knowledge of violence dynamics affecting marginalizedindividuals including Indigenous women and children.
- Proven ability to collaborate across programs and withcommunity partners.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suitevirtual meeting platforms databases and multi-factor authentication.
- Facilities management experience (an asset).
Additional Requirements
- Valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
- First Aid Level C certification.
- Ability to lift and move recreation office andhousehold supplies and related equipment.
- Ability to perform basic cleaning organizing andfurniture setup (tables and chairs).
- Availability for on-call support as scheduled.
