Contributes to the overall success of a portfolio of clients in Canadian Commercial Banking focusing on payments and cash management needs/products/services as well as Deposit products and ensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.

The Senior Manager is a specialist who possesses a strong understanding of bothpayment and cash management products as well as deposit options. He or She is responsible for negotiatingand structuring directly with the client to ensure solutions offered meet the clients needs in a mannerconsistent with the overall Canadian Commercial Banking strategy of developing a customer focused sales cultureand adhering to governing regulations internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you In this role you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge.
  • Promotes the development & profitable growth of the Canadian Commercial Banking as it relatesto both Payment & Cash Management products/services and Deposit options in the assignedmarket area:
    • Developing and implementing a marketing strategy to maximize business development opportunitiesfor sustainable growth;
    • Developing sales plans for prospects and existing customers;
    • Partner with internal resources for non-credit related products
  • Pursues a business development program within the assigned market area according to agreed-upon growth objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and service enhancements:
    • Working closely with Global Business Payments GBP understanding changes to services and deposit products and communicating this team members and clients
    • Understanding competitors offerings and industry trends and communicating this information to team
      members and clients as necessary
  • Ensures all aspects of assigned relationships receive ongoing attention as required to maintainimprove grow and retain the relationship.
  • Champion and support a culture of diversity and other initiatives aligned with the Bank strategy
  • Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activitiesand decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance withScotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring theadequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations withrespect to operational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role Wed love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or economics or work equivalency
  • Previous work experience of at least 2-5 years is preferred
  • Very strong sales/closing skills and strong networking ability
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this position.
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Good knowledge of credit skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Banks commercial payments and cash management products/services
    and deposit/treasury solutions as well as customer profitability model in order to provide
    integrated financial solutions.
  • Ability to conduct due diligence on the strength of customer financials for deals of moderate to
    higher complexity
  • Good PC skills are necessary including a working knowledge of MS Word Excel PowerPoint
    Outlook and other commercial systems and platforms.
  • Ability to travel and having a vehicle are required.
  • Due to the nature of the role and business needs there is a requirement for an in-office presence
