Essence of the job:
Our client is seeking a Quarry Section Engineer to plan design and oversee the maintenance and upkeep of both fixed and mobile plant operations. The fixed plant includes primary crushing conveying and stockpiling sections as well as two aggregate plants and supporting infrastructure.
The mobile plant responsibilities include managing the mining fleet. The role also involves leading an engineering maintenance team and overseeing minor improvement projects.
This position reported directly to the Quarry Manager.
Qualification:
A minimum of a Grade 12 certificate is often required.
SAQA - accredited 3-4-year Engineering Qualification in the field of Mechanical Mining or Industrial Engineering.
SAP MRP training or experience.
Mine Health and Safety Act 1996 (Act No. 29 of 1996).
Minimum Requirements:

The Mobile Plant includes Responsibility for the Mining Fleet.
The role requires managing an engineering maintenance team as well as minor improvement projects.
The incumbent will be responsible for OPEX and CAPEX budget management and performance management of the engineering team.
Responsibility includes the fixed crushing and conveying plant as well as the mining fleet and quarry facilities.
This role requires a degree in Mining Engineering/Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with experience in maintenance management as well as leading a maintenance team.
This is a senior position reporting to the Quarry Manager.
The role is for a fixed term period of twelve (12) months.
