Position Details:

The Opportunity:

Perform semi-skilled work in the operation maintenance repair remodeling painting and construction of buildings grounds equipment and facilities within the College of Veterinary Medicine. Responsible for all facility maintenance required to support College operations and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary:

$4653 - $5398 Range 45G (Steps G-M) Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with
RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent and two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance construction or repair work; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Working knowledge of tools equipment and materials used in facility maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints maintenance manuals and safety regulations.

  • Basic computer skills for work order management and recordkeeping.

  • Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor in varying environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic/lab equipment repair.

  • Completion of a vocational or technical training program in building trades mechanical systems or related field.

  • Experience in a university hospital or veterinary facility setting.

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to building operations and hazardous materials.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to safety reliability and high-quality workmanship.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
