Job Description

Ashley Hall is seeking a dedicated energetic and passionate individual to lead our Middle School Lacrosse program as Head Coach. The Middle School Coach will be responsible for creating a positive development-focused lacrosse experience that introduces and strengthens fundamental skills while reflecting the schools mission of empowering young women through athletics. The ideal candidate will foster a love for the game emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship and help prepare student-athletes for future success at the upper school level. This coach will lead a team in the SCYL.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor encouraging confidence teamwork and sportsmanship among all players.

  • Establish a supportive team culture grounded in respect discipline and enjoyment of the game.

Program Development:

  • Implement a structured age-appropriate lacrosse curriculum focused on teaching fundamentals skill progression and game awareness.

  • Support the long-term growth of the lacrosse program by fostering enthusiasm for the sport and helping players transition to the varsity level.

Practice & Game Preparation:

  • Plan and lead engaging practices that balance skill instruction conditioning and fun competition.

  • Teach rules strategies and positional play in a way that promotes understanding and enjoyment.

  • Prepare the team for interscholastic games through consistent instruction and reinforcement of team concepts.

Athlete Development:

  • Encourage each players growth in athletic ability confidence and leadership.
    Promote the importance of balancing academics athletics and personal character.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with the Athletics Department varsity coaching staff and school leadership to ensure program continuity and alignment with Ashley Halls values.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and players regarding schedules expectations and team updates.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Manage team operations including attendance equipment needs and uniform distribution.

  • Ensure a safe and organized practice and game environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior coaching or playing experience in lacrosse required; experience working with middle school athletes preferred.
    Knowledge: Strong understanding of lacrosse fundamentals skill development and game strategy appropriate for this age group.

  • Leadership & Passion: Energetic patient and positive leader who enjoys teaching and mentoring young athletes.

  • Commitment: Availability for weekday practices and games throughout the spring season.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within the Athletics Department and contribute to the overall mission of Ashley Halls athletic program.

  • Certifications: US Lacrosse Level 1 certification preferred. Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
