Due to the organisational growth we are looking for a Connections Contract Manager to join our Glasgow team. We are looking for an exceptional leader who is passionate about developing people and driving positive change. You will be based within the Connections Operations team at NESO which manages the connection of generation and demand to Great Britains high voltage electricity network. Youll therefore be at the forefront of helping Great Britain transition rapidly towards a zero-carbon future that can deliver our climate change goals.
As a Connections Contract Manager youll manage and lead our customers journey connecting low carbon technology to power the country. From huge wind farms in Scotland to solar farms in Skegness youll help us tackle climate change by transitioning GBs electricity system to net zero.
As Part of an ambitions Connections team here well empower you to deliver commercial aspects of a customer connections by developing solutions that meet their precise requirements.
Youll be the single point of contact for our customers managing them throughout the life of their project. Youll need to be resilient and able to handle the pressures that come within an industry driving forward to enable net zero by 2050.
This role is based in Glasgow and we continue to offer hybrid working from home and office. Please note that some travel to Warwick or Wokingham office may be required occasionally. We are open to full time and part time applicants as well as flexible working arrangements.
The role is hybrid with a minimum requirement of one day per week on-site in Glasgow along with the flexibility to accommodate additional days on-site as determined by the needs of the business (up to five days per week with as much notice as possible).

Aboutthe National Energy System Operator(NESO)
In Autumn of 2024 the ESO transitioned to National Energy System Operator or NESO for short. Previously denoted as the Future System Operator (or FSO) the new National Energy System Operator is the independent body responsible for planning Great Britains electricity and gas networks andoperatingthe electricity system.
The ESO includingall ofits existing roles are now at the heart of the new National Energy System Operator. As NESO we will build on our existing roles capabilities and ways of working significantly to create an organisation the energy system and its users need. Our new capabilities will enable us to look across vectors including electricity naturalgasand hydrogen and crucially consider the trade-offs between them.
The organisation is set up as a public corporation with its own Board of independent directors with complete operational independence from government the regulator andany and allcommercial interest. As was the ESO NESO will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements andobligatedtoidentifyoptimalsolutions to system operations and planning in the most sustainableaffordableand secure way for all.
