Job Description
To efficiently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to the highest of Omni standards.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to the company specifications with limited supervision from management.
- Will work primarily in the cold foods kitchen.
- The ability to identify and Inspect all food products for quality
- Follow all storage procedures when taking food out of walk-in and when returning food to walk-in.
- Safely and properly use all culinary equipment.
- Must have a solid and demonstrated understanding of cooking skills and techniques.
- Support restaurant chef/sous chef and supervisor
- Control quality and consistency of all food served.
- Insure station is set for service 15 minutes prior to service.
- Insure all food supplies necessary for service are in appropriate supply on a timely basis.
- Assist in controlling food cost.
- Required to learn all menu items produced by assigned station.
- Refrigeration and serving of cold food.
- Production of orders.
- Help to make sure of product availability for all outlets items.
- Directs proper sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
- Keep kitchen clean and organize every day by any business
- Ensure staff follows Ecosure rules and procedures.
- Ensures that all kitchen equipment is in good working order.
- Help to direct or report proper maintenance of all walk-in coolers (rotation of food products and cleanliness).
- Be on hands on control over daily food production.
- Monitors safety in the kitchen.
- Ensure food quality and consistency.
- Knows hotel and kitchen expectations and the proper guidelines.
- Help to checks and controls prep and inventory lists for kitchen staff.
- Help to check quality and consistency
Qualifications
Schedule Friday through Monday: 2:00pm - 9:30pm
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is strongly preferred.
- Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.
- Must be familiar with weights and measures in order to follow and multiply standard recipes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
- Must have basic mathematical skills.
- The ability to work in a fast paced high pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks and assignments.
- AZ Handlers certification required..
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift push pull and carry moderate weight. Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time with frequent bending and be able to utilize culinary tools (knives commercial equipment etc.) and taste/smell.
