Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a maintenance related trade.
- Valid Florida drivers license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida Class A commercial drivers license (CDL) with air brakes endorsement.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of pertinent regulations policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment materials practices computers and applications.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
- Ability to perform a variety of entry-level trades skills.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints desirable.
- Ability to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform manual and semi-skilled work and/or assist in a variety of skilled trades.
- Determine secure and use appropriate equipment materials and parts in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform routine duties involving the repair and maintenance of tools and equipment District-wide.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Use chemicals appropriate to assigned repair and maintenance tasks.
- Operate necessary equipment that depending on the assignment may include a box blade bulldozer front-end loader jackhammer trencher grinder personnel lift scissor lift hand tools sander dump truck flatbed bucket truck fork lift etc.
- Utilize basic District computer applications for communication training and record keeping.
- Register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Maintain driver and CDL licensure and required endorsements if applicable.
- Any job-related duties as assigned.
