The API Developer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

Location: 100% remote. This is a United States based position and candidates must reside in the continental United States to be eligible for employment.

Years Experience: 5 years professional experience

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field

Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance issued by the U.S. Marine Corp. This agency handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.

NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Schedules: IBR promotes work-life balance by offering flexible scheduling options. Standard business hours are aligned to the Eastern Time Zone.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in interface development with a focus on integrating systems using APIs and other integration technologies.

Position Overview

IBR is seeking an experienced Interface Developer to design develop and implement integrations built on the Microsoft Power Platform and other US Marine Corps (USMC) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating robust secure and efficient interfaces that enable seamless data exchange between various internal and external applications. The developer will work closely with business analysts system architects and other developers to understand integration requirements design solutions and implement and test interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Interface Design: Design and document technical specifications for system interfaces based on business requirements and system architecture.
  • Integrate front-end applications with Azure services such as Azure App Services Azure Functions Azure API Management Azure Logic Apps Azure Key Vault Storage etc.
  • Ensure application performance accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Support code reviews write unit/integration tests and follow best practices for code quality and version control.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot interface issues in production environments using Application Insights Log Analytics etc.
  • API Development: Develop and maintain APIs using REST SOAP and other relevant protocols within the Azure API Management Framework and Azure Services.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps Git and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Data Mapping & Transformation: Implement data mapping and transformation logic to ensure data consistency and accuracy across systems.
  • Integration Testing: Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and reliability of interfaces.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize interfaces for performance and scalability.
  • Security Implementation: Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data transmitted through interfaces.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for interfaces including API specifications data mappings and integration procedures.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve interface-related issues and defects in a timely manner.
  • Compliance: Ensure interfaces comply with relevant USMC and DoD regulations and security policies.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in interface development with a focus on integrating systems using APIs and other integration technologies.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Strong proficiency in API development and integration using REST SOAP and other protocols.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure Services and API Management Power Platform connectors and custom connector development.
  • Experience with Azure integration services (e.g. Logic Apps API Management).
  • Experience with data mapping transformation and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript C# or Python.
  • Understanding of security best practices for APIs and data integration.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with government or DoD systems is a bonus.

The expected salary range for this position is $100000 - $130000 USD annually.
