(Formation Communication Mission)
The KGS Assistant for Mission and Formation coordinates formation opportunities for students alumni and benefactors of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary under the direction of the President-Rector. The Assistant for Mission and Formation provides support in strategic communications and publications that serve the long-term formation vision of the addition to the messaging of the Communications Specialist the Assistant helps organize interest engagement and commitment in the seminarys mission to form healthy holy hard-working and joy-filled priests.
1. Develop and execute strategies and events that engage priests in formation opportunities to foster mutual enrichment of the seminary presbyterates and eventually parish life.
2. Help compose and edit formational content that advances a healthy culture of priestly formation for seminaries and presbyterates which will influence parish life.
3. Provide support for formation faculty in every stage of formation e.g. offering presentations facilitating discussions assisting with workshops etc.
4. Assist in the coordination and preparation of personnel for the formation curriculum.
5. Assist in the implementation of the vocational synthesis stage.
6. Create relationships and experiences that allow the mission and vision for priestly formation to reach dioceses and influence various ministries (e.g. FOCUS AI etc.)
7. Support the establishment of systematic and integrated planning for the seminary
8. Help coordinate the orientation education and preparation of Board members
9. Assist the Development Department with stakeholders or benefactors for ongoing formation as needed.
10. Participate in the liturgical spiritual and devotional life of the seminary when permitted.
11. Provide support for special projects and other duties as assigned or approved by the Rector.
1. Bachelors degree in marketing communications graphic design or other relevant degree area
2. Masters degree in theology religious studies or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
3. Prior experience in ministry religious education or administrative roles in a Catholic setting.
4. Minimum of 3 years of relevant communications experience especially in managing cross-channel campaigns.
5. Deep familiarity with the guiding documents for seminary formation (Vatican USCCB and KGS) and the ability to envision their alignment and integration.
6. The ability to articulate the mission of the seminary to the right audiences through the best distribution channels available.
7. Highly collaborative style.
8. Ability to work both independently and with a high degree of dependability and quality.
9. Excellent writing editing and verbal communication skills.
10. Evidence of creative thinking and supporting problem resolution.
11. Ability to multi-task
