Reporting directly to Editor-in-Chief Programs (EIC) the Program Design Assistant is responsible for design printing and distribution of all Artistic programs and inserts not included in the weekly program books. The Design Assistant is also responsible for design publication and maintenance of the online program book.
Responsibilities
- Design Assistant designs and lays out programs inserts and other print pieces using Adobe InDesign and occasionally Illustrator or Photoshop
- Designs and prints 160 concert programs program inserts Texts and Translations pages and other print pieces
- Assembles prepares and confirms all concert program information with help from Artistic department staff
- Reports directly to EIC and coordinates with Assistant Program Book Editor
- Typesets edits & proofs bios and other content with Assistant Editor and EIC
- Maintains printing production schedule with local printing businesses
- Creates updates and proofs index of 2026 programs and maintains print material archive for later binding
- Prepares and publishes online version of Program Book
Requirements
- Skill with Adobe suite (primarily Indesign) or ability to quickly gain competence is required.
- Familiarity with basic principles of web design is recommended.
- Sincere interest and curiosity about Western Art Music is required.
- The ideal candidate will be an effective and well-organized communicator.
- Extreme devotion to detail is required.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a tight-knit team; weekend and evening work is occasionally needed.

June 8 2026-August 25 2026
Compensation
$15.16/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $5.16/hour depending on location.) Overtime $22.74/hour
Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.
