As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer youll lead the creation of a comprehensive view of players and Dungeon Masters across our ecosystemspanning acquisition play tools site usage and long-term engagement. Youll turn complex multi-source data into clear trustworthy insights that guide product strategy content and community initiatives.

Youll be the go-to partner for product design engineering and marketingdefining canonical metrics and empowering every teammate to become an insights expert. Youll champion data quality and an experimentation approach to help us deliver magical player experiences.

This is a hybrid role located in Renton WA requiring 3 days a week in office.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Ownership: Lead the end-to-end player/DM insight stack: define key questions metrics and analytical frameworks (cohorts funnels retention LTV segmentation).
  • Business Intelligence: Architect and build Tableau dashboards that combine multiple complex sources and enable intuitive drill-downs.
  • Data Modeling: Design BI data models and a clean semantic/metrics layer to ensure consistent self-serve reporting.
  • Collaboration: Partner with central data teams to shape requirements source-of-truth tables and data quality checks.
  • Documentation: Instrument and validate product/event telemetry and document definitions in a data dictionary.
  • Strategic Insights: Lead descriptive and diagnostic analyses; translate findings into clear recommendations and present them to senior leadership.
  • Data Monitoring: Monitor dashboard usage and performance; iterate for clarity speed and adoption.
  • Data Experimentation: Collaborate on experiment design guardrail metrics and post-experiment reads.
  • Autonomy: Manage your own prioritized project list with a clear understanding of overarching business goals.
  • Data Security: Uphold privacy security and governance standards in everything we build.

What Youll Bring:

  • 5 years of experience in analytics data engineering or a similar field.
  • Proficiency in Advanced SQL with hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines.
  • Experience programming to extract transform and clean large data sets.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau or similar tools.
  • Practical experience modeling data for BI and working with modern cloud warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Strong data storytelling and partner communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • A solid understanding of and appreciation for Dungeons & Dragons.
  • Experience in consumer subscriptions gaming or content platforms and familiarity with player lifecycle analytics.
  • Knowledgeable about predictive modeling Machine Learning and A/B Testing methods.
  • Understanding of experimental design frameworks (e.g. design of experiments).

The base salary range for this position is $154400.00 to $248600.00. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience skills location and market conditions. Additionally employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
