The Global Trade Specialist is responsible for ensuring the companys compliance with all United States and international trade laws regulations and policies. The incumbent will manage import/export operations facilitate cross-border transactions and serve as the primary point of contact for all trade-related matters. This position is strictly limited to applicants who are legal residents of the United States; applications from individuals outside the US will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate all aspects of international trade operations including import/export documentation logistics and regulatory compliance.
Ensure adherence to all US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) regulations Export Administration Regulations (EAR) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other relevant federal and international laws.
Prepare review and process all necessary shipping and customs documentation to ensure timely clearance of goods.
Advise internal stakeholders on trade compliance tariff classification and duty optimization strategies.
Liaise with customs brokers freight forwarders and government agencies to resolve trade-related issues.
Monitor and interpret changes in trade regulations and provide recommendations for compliance and risk mitigation.
Conduct internal audits and assessments of trade processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
Support the preparation and maintenance of records required by government agencies.
Provide training and guidance to staff on trade compliance and best practices.
Collaborate with procurement supply chain legal and finance departments to support business objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in International Business Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
3 years of experience in global trade compliance import/export operations or a related discipline.
In-depth knowledge of US and international trade regulations including CBP EAR and ITAR.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and trade compliance software.
Certification such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) is preferred.
Must be a legal resident of the United States. International applications will not be considered.
