Role Description
SMBC is seeking a skilledInfrastructure Support Linux Adminto join our System Support department within the Americas Division. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background inLinux administration Rubrik backups and processesMicrosoft Active DirectoryWindows ServerVMwareAnsible automation workflows andAzure Runbook flows alongside traditional infrastructure support capabilities.
You will be part of the Level 2 System Support team responsible for triaging and resolving infrastructure issues collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring the stability and performance of critical systems.
Role Objectives: Delivery
- Provide Level 2 support for infrastructure issues acrossWindows ServerLinuxmessaging platforms andautomation tools.
- Administer and troubleshootLinux systems(RHEL CentOS Ubuntu) ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Support and maintainMicrosoft Exchangeand other messaging platforms (SMTP relays email gateways).
- Manage and maintainMicrosoft Active Directory(user group and policy administration).
- Operate and enhanceAnsible workflowsfor configuration management and system automation.
- Support and troubleshootVMware vSphereenvironments.
- Develop maintain and executeAzure Runbook flowsfor automated operational tasks.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to assess infrastructure needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis and contribute to long-term resolution strategies.
- Improve monitoring and reporting for daily system health checks.
- Document resolutions and procedures in a centralized knowledge base.
- Manage and update incidents and requests usingServiceNow.
- Ensure compliance with audit and security requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
- Work rotational shifts including scheduled Saturday coverage to ensure consistent support availability.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum3 yearsof experience in infrastructure and end-user support roles.
- Proficiency inLinux system administration(user management system updates log analysis shell scripting).
- Experience withMicrosoft Exchangeand enterprise messaging systems.
- Strong knowledge ofMicrosoft Active DirectoryandWindows Serverenvironments.
- Hands-on experience withAnsiblefor automation and orchestration.
- Experience withVMware vSphereand virtual infrastructure management.
- Experience withAzure Runbook flowsand automation in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and Citrix Workspace/XenDesktop.
- Understanding of core networking concepts (DNS DHCP etc.). Excellent troubleshooting communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong documentation and process improvement skills.
- High sense of urgency and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
