Do you want to experience what it is like to be part of a utility safety team The Lower Colorado River Authority is seeking college students with strong occupational safety and health background for the LCRA Industrial Hygiene Intern Program. This is a 10-to-12-week program designed to expose industrial hygiene students to safety and health programs within the utility industry. Interns will become integral members of the LCRA Safety Services team throughout their entire placement. This is an opportunity to apply industrial hygiene knowledge in a business environment.
You will be trusted to: - Meet with organizational stakeholders to identify IH problems and opportunities - Utilize IH instrumentation in an effort to characterize occupational exposures and identify health hazards - Research industry concepts ideas and best practices in IH - Read relevant texts articles and sources on all sides of IH topics - Formulate recommendations and alternatives based on your sampling and research - Prepare memos and/or presentations to present your research findings conclusions and recommendations - Justify your recommendations with data and objective logical reasoning - Explain alternative viewpoints and stakeholder feedback |
You qualify with: - Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent. - Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program in junior year or has completed junior year and will be starting senior year. You are a great fit with: - Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent. - In the Junior or Senior year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university with some advanced coursework related to Industrial Hygiene. |
