TITLE: ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL- MIDDLE SCHOOL
QUALIFICATIONS
- Baccalaureate Degree and a Masters Degree in Education
- Valid Principal Certificate or willingness to obtain within district-specific timeline
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to supervise teachers and staff
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work with students faculty and general public in a diplomatic friendly and efficient manner
REPORTS TO: Supervising Principal and/or Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To assist the principal substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in developing maintaining and supporting the best possible educational programs and services
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains discipline in the school through cooperation with teachers principal and parents.
- Keeps daily attendance records and accepts responsibility for the correction of attendance irregularities as directed by the supervising principal.
- Reports excessive absences to the parties responsible for the student.
- Coordinates with the School Resource Officer to provide for the safety of students and staff.
- Aids in the instructional process of the school by working with teachers parents students and fellow administrators.
- Oversees and evaluates JBMS staff as directed by the Principal.
- Assist Principal and AD with extracurricular supervision.
- Assists principal in staff evaluations.
- Fulfills any other duties that may be assigned by the principal.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and be mobile within and between school buildings
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month contract; compensatedbased on experience
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually by supervising Principal
