Job Summary

Line Cook

The Line Cook prepares and cooks food maintains cleanliness and ensures compliance with food safety regulations. Even though you may not contact guests directly your responsibilities are critical to the Cares success. At the Key West Cooking School you will be considered and all-around culinary employee and will learn the following positions: Prep Cook Line Cook Receiver and Inside/Outside Expo.

Requirements:

Essential Functions

  • Receiving and ordering products
  • Making prep recipes and menu products to spec.
  • Ensure proper labeling dating covering and refrigerating or prepped items for the line.
  • Perform opening closing and side duties such as setting up stocking and breaking down al kitchen equipment and prep line expo stations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen line expo dish room and back dock.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently over long periods of time and in groups within the scope of established rules and regulations.
  • Ability to display a positive energetic and outwardly friendly attitude towards guests and co-workers.
  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills excellent speaking reading and writing.
  • Comprehend and use technical or professional language either written or spoken to communicate complex ideas.
  • Demonstrate a high level or organization skills attention to detail and a sense of urgency.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • A food handling certification program is required to be completed before working in the kitchen.

Other Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing
  • Have a passion for helping people and make their Key West experience a memorable one.
  • Maintain necessary mandated food and drink certifications.
