Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to oversee daily operations at a luxury private camp in Plettenberg Bay. This live-in role requires a hands-on organised and proactive individual who can ensure exceptional guest experiences and smooth lodge operations.
Position Overview
The Duty Manager is responsible for managing the lodge during their shift supervising staff ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining the highest standards of guest service. The ideal candidate will be capable of problem-solving in real-time and delivering a seamless luxury experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily lodge operations during assigned shifts.
Supervise support and motivate staff to deliver exceptional service.
Ensure guest satisfaction and handle queries or complaints professionally.
Maintain operational standards across all departments including Front Office Food & Beverage Housekeeping and Maintenance.
Ensure compliance with health safety and hygiene standards.
Monitor and manage stock usage and report any shortages or maintenance issues.
Assist in staff training and development where required.
Maintain clear communication with lodge management regarding operations guest feedback and issues requiring attention.
Required Skills and Competencies
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a lodge hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in challenging situations.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Hands-on proactive and flexible approach to operational challenges.
