Job Description

The primary objective of this position is to assist the various aspects of the engineering department on a variety of projects related to construction inspection traffic mapping data collection streets utilities and sidewalks. This is a seasonal summer position (40 hour work week preferred). This position is subject to a criminal background check.


Compensation: Please note: The 2026 salary range is anticipated to increase pending budget approval in mid-December.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists with the inspection of construction projects including streets water main sanitary sewer storm drainage systems and sidewalks.
  • Inspection and data inventory for the citys storm sewer system.
  • Assists with traffic data collection.
  • Assists engineering staff with geographical information systems (GIS) mapping.
  • GPS survey data collection.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • A commitment to and belief in the organizations shared values.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university/technical Civil Engineering program.
  • Validdrivers license.

Desirable Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year completed in an accredited college/university/technical Civil Engineering program.
  • Experience in some aspects of GIS and GPS mapping.
  • Experience with stormwater/storm sewer utility systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Customer service experience.
