Job Description

Job Summary

*PART-TIME 10-15 hours/week*

Craft Education (acquired by WGU September 2024) is seeking an intern to join our growing engineering team for a part-time internship opportunity. Interns will be exposed to a variety of technical projects revolving around Crafts scaling SaaS Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and updating departmental databases spreadsheets and content management systems
  • Assist in developing and testing software applications using Java and Angular frameworks.
  • Contribute to building and deploying applications on AWS cloud services
  • Support the implementation and troubleshooting of office technology software applications and digital tools
  • Help create and update technical documentation user guides and standard operating procedures
  • Perform data entry validation cleanup and basic reporting using Excel Google Sheets or database tools
  • Aid in system testing form development and workflow automation projects using platforms like Google Workspace Microsoft 365 or institution-specific tools
  • Provide first-level technical support to staff and faculty including software setup printer troubleshooting and login/access issues
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives through research analysis and documentation
  • Collaborate with IT staff or business analysts on technology-driven projects or service requests
  • Present a final project or summary of learning to the team at the end of the internship.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of databases spreadsheets and office productivity tools (e.g. Excel formulas Google Forms SharePoint)
  • Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems or cloud-based tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical technical troubleshooting and organizational skills
  • Comfortable learning and using new systems and applications
  • Ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and asking for help when needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data security protocols
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

Experience

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  • Good foundation in Java programming and understanding of object-oriented principles.
  • Exposure to front-end development with Angular (or similar JavaScript frameworks).
  • Basic knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native concepts.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship during the internship period.
  • Must be in good academic standing with an expected graduation date.

Position & Application Details
