Position: Early Childhood Care and Education Adjunct Instructor
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Division of Business Industry and Technology
Reports to: Program Chair for Early Childhood Care and Education and Divisional Academic Dean
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. No State of Georgia benefits.
Deadline to Apply: December 1 2025 at 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches courses as directed by the program chair.
- Becomes familiar with program outcomes and understands course materials.
- Completes training in Blackboard learning platform TCSG curricular standards and program goals.
- Implements course instruction to meet TCSG curricular competencies based on approved course syllabus.
- Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives.
- Administers and grades class examinations.
- Maintains current and accurate student records.
- Submits related grades reports and forms within requested timelines.
- Submits course-related reports upon request by program chair or academic dean.
- Evaluates students progress in attaining goals and objectives for each course.
- Provides a periodic performance appraisal of students to the program chair and/or other program full-time faculty.
- Participates in the annual review evaluation and recommendation of student textbooks and learning materials.
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.
- Attends programmatic meetings trainings workshops and seminars as needed.
- Completes ALL required employee trainings.
- Meets with students staff members and supervisors as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Child Development Early Childhood Education or a related degree from an accredited college or technical institution.
- Eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Child Development Early Childhood Education or the specific area of the course.
- Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) to three (3) years work experience in a position related to Early Childhood Care and Education with children ages zero (0) five (5).
- Availability to teach evening classes.
- Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Previous online teaching or training experience including the use of video capture tools.
