Who are we looking for

Our West Coast Team is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Engineering Design Organization . As a senior structural engineer you will provide technical leadership and overview on several projects in the West Region. This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate knowledge be involved in exciting projects provide technical solutions and mentor junior engineers. This position will be based out of our Long Beach or Irvine CA office and work with our team members that are located across our several West Coast offices.

Responsibilities

Monitor Construction Works:Oversee and sign off the delivery of works to

ensure that construction maintenance or improvement works are delivered in

accordance with quality cost and time requirements. Includes verifying works

have been completed to necessary requirements and confirming contractor

obligations have been met.

Data Collection and Analysis:Conduct research using primary data sources

and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.

Engineering Drawings:Create complex engineering drawings to support the

communication evaluation and implementation of engineering solutions.

Engineering Solutions Design:Design engineering solutions and the

associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for

example in terms of functionality performance aesthetics and cost) that

conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.

Engineering Standards Specification:Analyze information draft engineering

standards and specifications and evaluate the effectiveness of those standards

within own engineering discipline to ensure work of the required quality is

delivered and to inform engineering work in the organization and/or of its

suppliers contractors and consultants.

Technical Developments Recommendation:Discuss and recommend

technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/applications

software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users needs.

Personal Capability Building:Develop own capabilities by participating in

assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal

training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation

where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an

in-depth understanding of technology external regulation and industry best

practices through ongoing education attending conferences and reading

specialist media.

Testing:Develop product specifications and design test procedures and

standards.

Technical Troubleshooting:Manage technical troubleshooting projects

ensuring effective diagnosis of technical issues with equipment and experiments

and the development of effective solutions.

Research:Achieve specific goals for a designated part of a research program.

Involves working within established research systems.

Project Management:Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working

within an established program management plan.

Client & Customer Management (External):Manage relationships with small

clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key

clients and customers..

Education

• Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering
• PE Required -State of CA preferred if outside CA then ability to obtain CA PE in 6 months
• SE Preferred

Experience

• Minimum 10-15 years experience
• In depth knowledge of engineering codes and guidelines such as ASCE 7 ACI 318 AISC 360 IBC CBC etc.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
• Knowledge of engineering design and analysis tools (i.e. SAP2000 SAFE Risa3D and MathCAD) as applicable

Salary Range: $108000-$180000 based on location and experience
