What youll do...
Define and author BMS power converter and HV controller requirements & interfaces
Develop and drive the design and architecture for BMS and power conversion controls software
Define fault detection and fault management strategies
Design develop and validate various high voltage and battery control strategies
Review BMS and HV system functional safety architecture and requirements
Review firmware battery cell & pack tests and validation results
Develop HV and battery system models and simulations
Collaborate with software vehicle systems testing and validation teams to implement and refine controls and integrate feedback from field and lab data.
Support board bring up testing and battery pack and vehicle integration efforts.
Support HV ECU hardware design and component selection.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts to identify and resolve controls-related issues and implement corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability.
Youll have
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering related degree or equivalent experience
A minimum of 10 years developing BMS and HV controls for automotive or mission-critical systems
Solid understanding of EV high voltage power conversion and battery management systems architectures
Experience developing systems compliant to ISO26262
Strong knowledge of lithium-ion battery cell (LFP NCA and NMC) and pack design technologies.
Solid knowledge of automotive regulatory and safety standards related to high voltage and battery systems.
Understanding of lithium-ion batteries models including equivalent-circuit thermal and physics-based models.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools for battery systems modeling and simulation.
Excellent problem solving hands-on testing technical writing and presentation skills

Understanding of real-time systems and common microcontroller architectures & peripherals.
Familiarity with common electronic components and comfort reading circuit design schematics & data sheets contributing to BMS hardware design discussions.
Ability to work independently on technical tasks effective troubleshooting and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of safety and compliance standards for grid-connected power converters.
A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement.
