Are you a visionary leader ready to shape medical strategy and drive impact in rare diseases and epilepsy We are seeking a strategic and inclusiveIC Rare & Epilepsy Medical Headto lead our medical affairs team across the Intercontinental region

About the role

As the IC Rare & Epilepsy Medical Head youll guide a team of Medical Experts across the Intercontinental region shaping strategies that bridge global vision with local needs. Youll serve as UCBs leading clinical and scientific ambassador representing the company in key forums and ensuring that both investigational and approved therapieslike Rozanolixizumab Zilucoplan and othersare supported by strong medical leadership. Your workwill connect you with top thought leaders payers and patient groups building networks that advance care for rare diseases and epilepsy. By fostering collaboration between global and local teams youll ensure best practices are shared and launch preparations are executed with excellence ultimately raising the standard of care for patients everywhere.

Who youll work with:

You will collaborate with regional and country Medical Experts and Medical Leads as well as cross-functional teams. Additionally you will work closely with the global team and local forums to ensure integrated approaches build capabilities and drive an outcome-focused organization. Your external partners are key opinion leaders professional bodies regulatory authorities payers and patient advocacy groups

What will you do:

  • Lead and develop a regional team of Medical Experts providing coaching mentoring and strategic direction.
  • Shape and execute integrated regional medical strategies and tactics for rare diseases and epilepsy ensuring alignment with global and local priorities.
  • Act as the scientific ambassador for UCB representing the company in key internal and external forums and building networks with thought leaders and stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with commercial access regulatory development and other teams ensuring and securing fully integrated medical plans and successful product launches.
  • Guide evidence generation and medical education initiatives including clinical trials real-world evidence and scientific communication.
  • Ensure compliance and best practices in medical governance and capability building across the region.

InterestedFor this position youll need the followingeducation experienceandskills:

  • D. Masters or equivalent in Life Sciences or related field
  • Extensive experience in rare diseases neurology highly preferable 2 to 3 yrs of experience in Myasthenia Gravis and rare epilepsies
  • 10 years experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry with substantial leadership experience (5 years leading teams or 3 years managing a medical team)
  • Strong understanding of clinical development study management and real-world evidence generation
  • Proven track record in cross-functional planning collaboration and solution building
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams and cultures
  • Strategic and Analytical thinking with the ability to translate science into clinical and business value
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and healthcare ecosystems
  • Demonstrated experience in governance activities and pragmatic implementation
