The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience ranging from $103939 to $129924.
Job Summary
The Supervisor - Cost Control within the Gas Operations team is responsible for supervising a team of 3-6 direct and indirect reports providing financial and analytical support to ensure effective cost control and budget management across gas operations. This role collaborates with stakeholders in Gas Operations and Gas Engineering as well as financial performance departments to monitor expenditures forecast costs and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Manage teams workload as it relates to PO requests. Address questions and concerns.
Support team throughout billing processes from beginning to end with a high urgency on timeliness and accuracy. Providing guidance and support as needed.
Support Gas Operations Budget & FA teams with developing bid packages to prepare for Frameworks.
Ability and initiative to solve complex and unusual assignments that may arise out of the typical process.
Reconcile vendors invoices efficiently and timely ensuring accurate billing based on contracts.
Empower team to resolve any vendor stakeholder or customers issues providing support as needed.
Manage team assuring the monitoring and tracking of PO requests for Gas Operations and Gas Engineering. Providing approvals for budget spends and usage.
Attend financial spend control meeting ensuring teams presence and address any issues with budgets.
Support Gas Operations Budgets & FA Supervisor in cost forecasts variance analyses and budget reports.
Lead team in analyzing cost trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across usage of FAs.
Collaborate with Gas Operations Budgets & FA Supervisor and Financial Performance team to ensure accurate cost reporting.
Maintain documentation for current and historical data analysis and reporting.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in cost control processes and tools.
Guides team through developing and creation quotes for customer charged work executed by Gas Distribution teams.
Steps in as member of the Cost Control needed backup as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in cost analysis financial planning or project support.
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload on daily basis.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
Professional certification such as CMA PMP or equivalent is a plus.
Knowledge of budgeting cost control and Gas Operations projects.
Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Experience in gas utility or energy sector projects.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle).
Experience with project management software (e.g. Primavera MS Project).
