Job Summary

Visas Internship Program provides an immersive 12-week journey where youll work on impactful projects that drive Visas mission forward. As a Visa intern youll build valuable connections across the organization sharpen your communication and business acumen and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic global environment. 

Throughout the program youll have exclusive access to interactive workshops and learning sessions designed to deepen your expertise expand your industry knowledge and elevate your professional skillset. You wont just be learning youll be contributing collaborating and innovating every step of the way. In addition to professional development youll enjoy a variety of intern social events that foster community connection and fun throughout the summer. 

The experience culminates in an exciting final presentation where youll showcase your project achievements share key insights and present your recommendations to Visas leaders and stakeholders. This is your chance to demonstrate your business impact highlight your personal growth and align your work with Visas vision for the future. 

We are seeking Systems Engineer interns across our Technology organization. As an intern you will take on meaningful work engage in out-of-the-box problem solving and participate in global case challenges and impactful initiatives. You will get the chance to work with multiple teams systems and products through a wide variety data sources. From technology to business we are looking for people who can innovate collaborate and bring Visa into the next level of a rapidly evolving digital marketplace.

During the internship you will work on one or more hands-on projects with the team. Our summer internship also equips you with social and professional networking events and developmental workshops designed to provide you the resources and training to have an impactful summer.

Some examples of previous summer intern job duties and projects:

  • Leverage Generative AI tools to automate system administration tasks streamline workflows and reduce manual intervention
  • Monitor system health using AI-driven analytics and proactively address potential issues before they impact service availability
  • Communicate and work in a global distributed team 
  • Maintain and manage SharePoint lists and workflow to improve process and efficiency
  • Identify a pattern in existing historic data and suggest improvements
  • Collaborate with the team to transform data to help make business decisions and build insights
  • Employ creative methods for problem solving

As a summer Intern you will be placed in one of the technology organizations at Visa and specific assignments will depend on upon your skills sets interest and team needs.


Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Data Science CIS/MIS or a related field graduating December 2026-August 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Java JavaScript HTML Python Perl shell scripting Jupyter Notebook etc.
  • Experience with the setup configuration and maintenance of server and storage hardware (e.g. Dell HPE Supermicro) and GPU platforms (e.g. NVIDIA)
  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools and concepts and an interest in applying them to infrastructure management
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Familiar with data visualizing tools like Excel MS Power BI Tableau etc.
  • SQL query skills or familiarity with RDBMS would be a plus
  • Showcase hands-on data handling to leverage new technologies to help drive critical business decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • The ability to take on challenges and address problems head-on 
  • Strong ability to collaborate
  • Highly driven resourceful and results oriented
  • Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity

Additional Information :

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $35-$40/hr which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical Dental Vision 401 (k) FSA/HSA Life Insurance Paid Time Off and Wellness Program. 

Work Authorization: Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position. Future sponsorship will not be considered. 

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

This is a hybrid position: Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. 

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.
