DescriptionPlans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of Physical Therapy. Treats patients of all ages with a variety of physical disabilities. Reports to the Clinical Coordinator.
Responsibilities- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards.
- Performs a comprehensive evaluation on each assigned patient within established time frames considering the patients age diagnosis prior level of function and living situation.
- Establishes a treatment plan for each patient which includes measurable goals and revises these goals as necessary for individual patients.
- Conducts and adapts treatment programs in consideration of patient age diagnosis physical psychological and socioeconomic welfare.
- Designs and fits adaptive devices such as orthotics mobility aids and tools based on patient needs.
- Teaches patients/family skills and techniques to meet the comprehension level of the patients/family.
- Maintains appropriate documentation of patient status summarizing treatments rendered and patient response.
- Maintains communication with physicians via verbal and written reports regarding patient progress and specific needs.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs current literature and in-service meetings.
- Attends meeting as required. Serves as Clinical Instructor for Physical Therapy/Therapy Assistant Students under the leadership of the CCCE.
- Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians and Aides appropriately. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an approved professional program in Physical Therapy.
Experience: Sufficient prior clinical experience in Physical therapy.
Special Skills: Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients individual needs based on medical conditions age (infants pediatrics adolescents young adults middle-aged and geriatric) limitations and planned procedures.
License: Registration and current licensure in Mississippi.
