Job Summary
Client facing role supervising the safe delivery of project contracts from inception to completion includingthemanagementofcontractorsexternalstakeholdersandliaisonwiththeresident BGIS site team. Assisting the Project Manager to ensure project profitably in line with expected Gross Profit and to ensure practical completion and prompt billing.
Thecandidateshouldhaveaclearunderstandingoftherequirementstoself-deliverprojectsfrom commencement to completion in line with the BGIS procedures and culture.
ProjectPlanning
- AssistProjectManagementteambyaccompanyingsub-contractorstoattendsiteto evaluate new project opportunities.
- Supervisionofprojectswithsafetyandcustomersatisfactionasapriority.
- Explainimplicationsofchangestoprojectscopeand/orobjectivestotheclientandto the project team.
- Managethesubcontractteamtoprioritizetasksoutstandingobstaclesorbarriers budgets resources and deadlines.
- Createorparticipateinthecreationofprojectdocumentation.
- Ensureallprojectdocumentationisinplaceandsuitablepriortoanystartonsite.
- Develop a relationship with the client stakeholders team members or contract personneltoensurethedefinedsolutionestablishedprojecttimelinesand budgetsare all as expected.
- WorkwiththeProjectManager/HeadofProjectstoensurechangesareunderstoodand approved.
- Forwardplantorecognizepotentialprogrammeimplications.
Projectaccountingandfinance
- Understandprofit&lossandcost-to-completionprojections;andcommunicateissuesto the Project Manager/Head of Projects so that actions can be agreed accordingly.
- Understandpricingmodelandbillingprocedures.
- WorkcloselywiththeProjectManager/HeadofProjects toaccuratelyforecastrevenue profitability margins and billing.
- Trackandreportteamhoursandexpensesonaweeklybasis.
- Determinetheappropriaterevenuerecognitionensuringtimelyandaccurate completion of works to enable invoicing.
Projectcontrol
- TheProjectSupervisoristoberesponsibleforthesaferunningoftheirownprojectsand assist in the completion of a Construction Phase Plan as part of their project control methodology.
- EnsurethateachprojectrunsinconjunctionwiththeConstructionPhasePlanand that each person involved in the project is proven to have the required skills.
- Manage scope creep through client change orders internal change orders phased deliveryorothermethodstoensureprojectsdeliverontimelinescopebudgetand strategy expectations.
- Ensureprojectmeetsinternalandclientexpectationswithrespecttoqualitybudget delivery time lines.
- issues when necessary to ensure minimal impact to quality budget and time line.
- WhereprojectcontrolisinjeopardyassisttheProjectManager/HeadofProjectsin creating contingency plans with appropriate input from key team members and implement a revised project schedule scope or budget in a timely manner.
Projectcommunication
- Workwithprojectteamtoensureclientsachieveanunderstandingofexpectations deliverable dependencies risks progress and the works development process.
- Communicateprogressrisksexpectationstimelinesmilestonesandotherkeyproject metrics to clients and team members in a timely and professional manner both orally and in writing.
Internalprojectreportingandadministration
- Attendprojectreviewmeetings.
Resourcemanagement
- ExperienceofSupervisingprojects50kto1mplus.
- Understandprojectrolesofteammembersbasedonprojectrequirementstimeframes and budget.
- Workwithexternalcontractorsinadditiontointernalresources.
