At Catapult we are currently supporting one of our members in the IDD space in their search for 1-2 Direct Support Professional(s) (DSP) to support an adult male with autism in the Durham area.
Ideal DSP candidates have a passion first and foremost for providing profound care and support services to individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities and are highly skilled and knowledgeable in supporting individuals as they develop essential life skills reach personal goals and improve their quality of life. This is an impactful role providing high-quality care to make a positive difference in an individuals daily life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and wellbeing providing supervision and support in home work and various other settings.
- Follow an individual-centered care plan to implement goal driven activities.
- Offer assistance in building valuable life skills and encourage social interaction and relationship-building opportunities.
- Maintain and provide reflective feedback daily to document and track progress against individual goals.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must possess a valid drivers license and registration
- GED or High School diploma
Position Details:
- Schedule: Weekdays approximately 30-35 hours per week
- Shift Times: Start times vary between 7:30am and 9:00am with each shift lasting 6-8 hours depending on the days schedule
- Pay range: $16-$21 per hour
- Additional benefits may be available depending on part time or full time designation
