Job Summary
Job Title: Telecommunication Engineer
Design implement and maintain telecommunication systems such as LAN WAN VoIP and satellite communication.
Install and configure telecommunications equipment including routers switches modems and multiplexers.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Conduct site surveys feasibility studies and system evaluations for new infrastructure setups.
Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to integrate communication systems into broader network architectures.
Ensure compliance with telecommunication regulations standards and safety practices.
Maintain accurate documentation of network layouts equipment configurations and system updates.
Upgrade systems and perform firmware/software updates to ensure compatibility and security.
Provide technical support and training to users and internal teams regarding telecom systems.
Prepare project plans cost estimates and timelines for new system roll-outs or upgrades.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Telecommunications Electronics & Communication Engineering or a related field.
Certification in networking/telecom technologies such as CCNA CCNP or similar is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the telecom or IT infrastructure domain.
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of telecommunication systems protocols and signal transmission (e.g. SIP TCP/IP ISDN).
Hands-on experience with network equipment like Cisco Huawei Juniper or Yavapai.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software for network analysis and troubleshooting.
Ability to interpret technical drawings wiring schematics and network diagrams.
Good understanding of fibre optics satellite communication and wireless technologies.
Excellent problem-solving communication and project management skills.
Willingness to travel to remote sites or client locations as needed.
