Job Title: Expert Software Architect
Task Order: HBITS

Position Overview
This HBITS role requires an Expert-level PeopleSoft Application Architect to support and lead efforts related to a major PeopleSoft HCM system upgrade. The Architect will evaluate and ensure that all existing customizations are preserved optimized or redesigned appropriately. This position involves high-level application design technical leadership and hands-on PeopleSoft development work aligned with New York State requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop PeopleSoft programs and provide technical guidance to one or more developers and cross-functional team members.
- Perform research and provide technical direction to meet business needs with a focus on the Human Capital Management module as well as PeopleSoft Interaction Hub (Portal).
- Analyze and assess the need for customizations versus workaround with delivered functionality.
- Participate in Process Improvement work groups with customer agencies as needed.
- Analyze research and document business rules for legacy application functions.
- Write Oracle Structured Query Language (SQL) statements to diagnose problems and resolve data issues.
- Provide and implement recommendations for security at the Interaction Hub level and user access level.
- Produce documentation such as technical and functional documentation job aids as well as detailed options documentation based on the requirements gathered from the customer.
- Provide support for environment upgrade activities.
- Work in coordination with customers to resolve user-based issues.
- Assist with end user training efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Software Architect Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards including software coding standards tools and platforms. Designs multi-level architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.
- Expert (7 Years): Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of their field.
- 7 years developing customizations and interface programs in PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) version 9.2 using PeopleSoft Application Designer with PeopleTools 8.53 or higher.
- 7 years experience using SQL against an Oracle relational database to support PeopleSoft-related tasks.
- 7 years experience with PeopleSoft Reporting Tools using PS Queries and BI Publisher.
- 6 years experience using Workflow configuration with Approval Workflow Engine (AWE).
- 5 years experience with PeopleSoft Integration Tools such as Integration Broker.
- 4 years experience working in PeopleTools and PUM upgrades.
- 1.5 years experience configuring and customizing Smart HR Templates and Application Packages.
- 1.5 years experience with Fluid Work Centers Activity Guides Dashboards and Page and Field Configurator.
