Job Title: Plant Maintenance Mechanic
Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Industry
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Location: Eatontown NJ 07724
Shift: 1st shift and 2nd shift
Training Shift: 1st shift
Role Overview
The Plant Maintenance Mechanic performs maintenance repair and technical support activities for plant facilities machinery and production equipment. The role spans multiple maintenance trades and supports daily manufacturing and distribution operations.
Core Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair
- Perform repairs and maintenance on plant facilities office areas machines and equipment.
- Work across several maintenance trades including carpentry plumbing painting electrical machinery repair sheet metal fabrication and welding.
- Conduct routine scheduled and special inspections to prevent machinery and facility breakdowns.
- Use hand and power tools to test inspect troubleshoot and repair machines and equipment.
- Work with blueprints wiring diagrams sketches and technical specifications.
Production and Operations Support
- Provide support for manufacturing or distribution operations involving assembly machinery processing packaging and product distribution.
- Set up and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines used in continuous production processes.
- Report machine malfunctions or abnormalities and assist in adjustments to methods or processes.
- May participate in receiving shipping inventory control and storage activities within distribution centers.
Autonomy and Work Structure
- Entry-level within the career stream but requires prior experience.
- Work is clearly defined and follows standard routine procedures with close supervision.
- Learn operational procedures equipment handling and established systems.
- Perform well-defined clerical or operational tasks in a distribution environment.
Organizational Impact
- Execute basic production or distribution center activities.
- Record and report data following defined processes and standard outputs.
Innovation and Complexity
- Work involves routine issues with established solutions.
- Provide necessary information when minor operational adjustments are needed.
Communication
- Interact mainly within the immediate team.

- May occasionally communicate with external contacts as needed.

Required Knowledge and Experience

- Minimum 4 years of experience required.
- High school diploma/GED mandatory.

- Strong foundational skills in troubleshooting equipment handling and maintenance systems.
