Job Summary

Description

In this role you will be responsible for providing technical expertise on a variety of sensor projects for aerospace applications. You will use your knowledge of optics and lasers to support established production lines as well as advance the next generation of sensor technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of MEMS and Ring Laser Gyro sensors
  • Support current production lines as well as research and development for the next generation of sensors
  • Provide successful execution of complex engineering projects.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences technology engineering or mathematics.
  • Experience with integrating and troubleshooting complex systems including optical mechanical electrical and software components.
  • Ability to operate and maintain complex systems perform data collection and conduct system calibration and validation.
  • Strong documentation skills including the ability to capture design documentation system requirements and test procedures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams stakeholders and external partners.

WE VALUE

  • Masters degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical Mechanical Aerospace or Engineering Physics) or a related field.
  • Strong physics background experience with optical and laser design.
  • Technician level hands-on skills comfortable working directly with hardware wiring and test benches.
  • Experience working as an R&D engineer in a relevant field such as LiDAR systems optics design laser design or remote sensing.
  • Strong knowledge of laser beam propagation signal processing and data analysis.
  • Experience with thin film coatings for optical systems such as anti-reflective filter or mirror coatings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.

The annual base salary range for this position in Minneapolis MN is $91200 - $115000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
