Job Summary

IMC is currently hiring aLPN - OB/GYN Unitwhoisresponsibleforrendering safe nursing care to patients; supervising directing and monitoring the nursing care assigned to her/him; administering medications performing venipuncture assisting in the supervision and training of CNAs; and performs related duties and using the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical psycho/social education safety and related criteria for the pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric population.
EDUCATION/SKILLS:
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- Current license as a LPN in the state of Louisiana.
- Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles.
- Knowledge of anatomy
- Previous experience preferred but not required IV Certification
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality regardingall aspects of patient care
- Applies the nursing process to each patient andimplements nursing actions
- Identifies patient and family education needsand in collaboration with other disciplines initiates education needsaccording to the age of the patient.
- Participates in planning of patients dischargeneeds and readiness for discharge.
- Participates in departmental and hospitalimprovement plan
- Functions as a positive role model for peers andpromotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center
- Maintains confidentiality security andintegrity of patient and organizational data
- Consistently lives by the Iberia Medical CenterStandards of Performance
- Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals
