Position Purpose: The Mission Operations Engineer II is a mid-level engineer responsible for executing and supporting satellite mission operations with general supervision and increased autonomy. This role contributes to all phases of the satellite life cycleincluding pre-launch planning commissioning nominal operations anomaly response and decommissioningtypically in support of multiple missions. This position is expected to take operational responsibility for specific mission support functionssuch as contact planning telemetry analysis scripting or anomaly resolutionand to contribute to routine customer communications. The role includes supporting the development and maintenance of operational tools procedures and automation frameworks. It also offers opportunities to lead scoped initiatives and drive improvements across operational workflows.

Pay Range: $80000 - $140000 (Salary to be determined by the education experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:
Independently execute real-time spacecraft and payload command and control across all mission phases including launch and commissioning activities
Contribute to the development and refinement of mission operations concepts procedures and flight products
Write and maintain ground command scripts timelines and automation tools to support mission operations
Document and verify ground and flight segment requirements; participate in formal verification and validation activities
Monitor spacecraft telemetry perform trending analysis and support root cause investigations for anomalies
Participate in integrated system-level testing of flight and ground segments to ensure mission readiness
Generate and maintain internal and customer-facing documentation in support of nominal operations
Collaborate with customers during technical meetings and exchanges; communicate operational status and resolve questions with support from senior engineers and subsystem experts
Coordinate with subsystem and operations software teams to implement mission-specific updates or resolve operational issues
Identify and implement improvements to command scripts operational tools workflows or other mission support infrastructure
Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through documentation tools or onboarding materials
Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering Systems Engineering Computer Science or related field
25 years of experience in satellite operations or mission operations engineering
Proficiency with satellite operations concepts (e.g. telemetry commanding automation ground systems)
Experience writing and modifying operational scripts
Demonstrated ability to perform telemetry analysis and support anomaly investigations
Strong documentation and communication skills including the ability to contribute to external customer communications and meetings
Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers scanners filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
