About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by enabling efficient and equitable access to the City of Hobarts car parks for ratepayers visitors and business patrons.

Role accountabilities include:

  • Provide high-quality customer service and accurate information to car park patrons at enquiry counters.
  • Process cash and credit card payments and manage daily reconciliation.
  • Respond professionally to customer complaints and payment disputes.
  • Conduct daily inspections of car parks and report security or maintenance issues.
  • Issue parking infringements in accordance with relevant legislation and Council by-laws.

About you

You will bring strong customer service skills and the ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment. You are professional approachable and able to manage situations of conflict with tact and respect.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Completion of Year 10 or a Certificate qualification in a relevant area (Customer Service of Business Administration) with the ability to undertake and complete a Certificate III in Local Government - Regulatory Services.
  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employee) and a valid Drivers Licence.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to provide respectful and professional interactions with the public and internal staff.
  • Capacity to understand and apply relevant legislation for accurate issuing of infringement notices.
  • Ability to work additional hours as required including weekends and to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
