Role Summary
The Senior Mechanical Estimator prepares assembles and submits tender prices for projects of varying size and scope. This role is responsible for developing accurate estimates maintaining pricing records and supporting the management team in acquiring construction projects. By breaking projects into logical areas with detailed labour and cost breakdowns the estimator sets the foundation for project success and ensures a smooth handoff to the execution team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review proposal specifications and complete quantity take-offs for labour equipment and materials.
- Estimate and create accurate proposals for individual projects.
- Identify innovative solutions for cost savings and client needs.
- Meet with customers and clients to understand requirements.
- Foster supplier relationships and negotiate pricing.
- Provide technical support to Project Managers Coordinators and Business Development teams.
- Generate project plans and communication plans; facilitate project hand-off meetings.
- Liaise with Project Managers to ensure all relevant information is shared and understood.
Must-haves:
- 8 years of experience preparing cost estimates and proposals for mechanical construction projects (HVAC sheet metal plumbing piping).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software (Trimble AutoBid Bluebeam ProCore).
- Strong understanding of specifications construction methods and procedures.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel focus).
- Ability to produce accurate proposals under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Minimum Reliability Security Clearance.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with commercial and institutional projects.
- Strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills.
This is a replacement annual compensation; $75000 - $105000
